NIST CSF Abstract – Cyber Security Users Group – November 2017
NIST CSF Abstract – Cyber Security Users Group – November 2017
On February 12, 2013 then President Obama issued
Presidential Executive Order for Improving Critical Infrastructure
Cybersecurity. One aspect of the executive order was for the National Institute
of Standards and Technology (NIST) to develop what has become known as the NIST
Cyber Security Framework or NIST CSF or simply CSF. Since being released in
February 2014 the CSF has gained significant traction. This talk will explore key aspects of the
CSF, adoption of the framework, implications for businesses, and potential
future considerations. A case study will
be referenced pertaining to the adoption of information security frameworks and
alignment with NIST CSF. This talk is
intended to be interactive with questions and commentary encouraged during and
after.
